The Self-Reliant Community is not another blog about how to live off the grid; actually, it is almost the opposite.

We will explore how to live on the grid, where you are today but with a twist. We will explore weaknesses in the infrastructure and how to prepare today, (while resources are available) for a time when all those modern systems and conveniences are not available.

We will try to learn from off-grid concepts how to change our lives and self-reliance so we can be comfortable and safe where we are when those modern systems fail. This is not a blog about how to move off-grid, but rather a community sharing ideas about how to stay where you are with confidence regardless of circumstances.
